Headmaster
We are seeking an accomplished leader to serve as the Headmaster of Union Academy Public Charter School. This position requires a minimum of 10 years leadership experience as a High School assistant principal, High School principal, headmaster or school superintendent. The requirements include but are not limited to the day to day supervision of all functions of the three schools (i.e.; elementary, middle and high schools); including facilities, IT, athletics and all academic divisions. The headmaster serves as the central point of contact with North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (DPI), and is our head cheerleader. The headmaster is also expected to assist with fundraising activities and to serve as an Ex-Officio member of the Union Academy Foundation Board. The ideal candidate must show demonstrated success in previous leadership roles, and have a list of accomplishments to prove that success. The headmaster will also serve as the chief spokesperson of the school, and serves at the pleasure of the board of directors. The candidate must also hold a minimum of a Masters Degree in related educational discipline (s) and maintain a current principal license in the state of North Carolina. The best candidate will show celebrated success in building a great High School (public or private) and come to us with a working knowledge and some experience with public school law, and in particular, Charter School law in North Carolina.
