All NC Alliance member schools may cast votes for up to 3 people for our new Hall of Fame. Only one vote per nominee by each member school so the member school can list 1, 2, or 3 names, but not more than one vote for any one person. The three highest vote getters will be recognized Aug. 2 at the conference.

I represent North Carolina on the State Leaders Council, a part of the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools. Last week, at the National Alliance’s conference in Atlanta, I was nominated for a slate of candidates to be considered for the National Alliance’s Board of Directors and asked to submit a “Letter of Interest”, which I have posted below.

State Board of Education to Meet via Conference Call
The State Board of Education will meet via conference call on Friday, June 24, at 11:30 a.m., concerning potential waivers and implementation of the 185-day school calendar for 2011-12.

The always dapper Brandon Smith of East Wake Academy (and NC Alliance Board member) with Lisabeth Kane at National Alliance conference in Atlanta Wednesday. The NC Alliance hosted a meeting at the Georgia World Congress Center for our members and other invited guests in which President Eddie Goodall and Brandon Smith addressed about 50 attendees.
