Academy puts black males first

The teacher was reviewing her first-grade students’ writing.

“The children is playing,” one student, a black boy, had written.

Very good, the teacher told him, and moved on to the next student.

Public School Forum takes position on public charter schools

 Public School Forum Supports Lifting Cap

on Charter Schools

     The Public School Forum is the latest group to give support to lifting today’s limitation on Charter Schools. However, the organization is calling on the General Assembly to establish criteria defining the types of new charter school applications it will consider, and the organization is recommending that the State approve not more than ten new charter schools per year.
